Family Conference

Family Conference

Saturday & Sunday, Sept. 8-9

9:30am – 2:00pm

Please join us for two days of teaching from the Bible about how to make your most important relationships all that they can be. The conference is free, but registration is necessary to be included in the Saturday lunch (email number attending from facebook or our website).
Our Guest speakers Dr. John and Gini Mincy were church planting missionaries in Singapore in the 1970s and then planted two more churches in California. John also founded a Christian school he administrated for nearly 30 years. In addition to raising 4 kids of their own, 3 of whom are in full-time Christian ministry, they draw on a wealth of experience dealing with “other people’s” kids.  You’ll enjoy the practical insights they bring to the subject of the family.

Deeper Roots – 2018 Theme

Grow DEEP – Live TALL

Thriving churches are full of thriving people. Yet for things to thrive, especially in the desert, the roots must go deep. Longing for growth is natural. (What kid doesn’t want to be just a little taller?) But growing tall begins with growing deep. If you long to grow in your relationship with God and to sink your roots deeper in His kingdom, then we invite you to join us at Continental. We’re aiming to grow deeper this year!

Maybe you have noticed how Christians today are becoming shallow. Sure, we love Jesus, love church, love our Christian friends. But we stay pretty superficial, even with God. We sing our alleluias and say our amens; then we go home and live largely separate from God. The problem is we do not even realize how dry our roots are. We need to a new hunger for God’s word, a new commitment to His work, and new passion for prayer. No one can stand tall who has not planted his roots deep. We need to recover some depth to our Christianity, now more than ever.

KJV Psalm 1:3 And he shall be like a tree planted by the rivers of water, that bringeth forth his fruit in his season; his leaf also shall not wither; and whatsoever he doeth shall prosper.

Be Refreshed!

Be Refreshed!

Life can be a desert, so we need to be refreshed!

There is no better place to find real refreshment than at church. Here we meet Jesus, who is still the best answer to our questions and the only solution to our problems. It is amazing how a book written nearly two millennia again speaks so clearly to our needs today. We invite you to take a load off your feet and off your mind with us this Sunday.

Do look our website over, but there’s no substitute for seeing us in person. We are more than words and pictures. We are real people seeking to make a big deal about Jesus Christ. I hope you will do us the kindness of dropping by this Sunday. I understand that you have many choices in NW Tucson/Marana when it comes to worship, but I think you will find our church refreshing. We’re not about hype but about offering real hope in Jesus.

It would be easier to stay home this Sunday, but everyone who now attends is glad they didn’t.

Give us a visit this weekend. I’ll be looking for you!

Home Study Groups

Home Study Groups

Some of the sweetest times of fellowship and spiritual growth happen in our small groups. It’s a chance for both ladies and men to sink their roots deeper in Christ and in His Church. Presently, the ladies and men alternate  every other Weds. at 7pm. Ladies meet the 1st and 3rd Weds. of each month and Men meet the 2nd and 4th Weds. (These are home-based studies. Call or email the church for location.)

Our Spring sessions are already underway. Books are available for each group for personal study. The sessions allow for interaction and comment on what has been learned. You are welcome to jump in at any time!

In January, the Ladies’ group is studying 1 Peter with the “Workmen of the Word” Series by Linda Lindley.

Men are studying “The Trellis and the Vine” by Colin Marshall and Tony Payne. The book takes another look at how we do church and asks us to consider a new paradigm based on the teaching of Jesus and His apostles.

Family Friendly

Family Friendly

Something for everyone!

We’re working hard to make Continental a family-friendly place. Every Sunday morning beginning at 9:30am, we have a class for every age group (children to adult). And at 10:30am, we dismiss children (ages 4 to grade 4) to children’s church for an hour of age-appropriate worship for your little ones, while you focus your heart on God’s word for you.

Here are 2 more opportunities for families with children:

1st Sunday of the month, 6pm – We host Family Night. A one-hour service with songs, Bible lesson(s), game and treats for families with children. All for free!

Every Saturday 8:30-10:30am – We host a Martial Arts Club for children ages 6 and above. Every session comes with a character lesson. Drop-in basis, only $5 per week, per child.

I bet you’ll find Continental a place your whole family will love!
